Darlene Dugan

Founder of the West Michigan Flute Association

Our wonderful friend, “mother”, “grandmother,” and mentor, Darlene Dugan, passed away April 21, 2023. It is with a grateful heart that I recognize her extraordinary spirit that brought all of us together and began the organization known as the West Michigan Flute Association.

Her impact on the lives of so many cannot be overstated. Her gracious nature, excellent teaching, curious mind, and constant learning inspired everyone she taught. —Julie Sooy, Music Director of the West Michigan Flute Association
