Since 1992, the West Michigan Flute Association has proudly stood as a beacon for flute performance and education in our region.
Composed of highly trained flutists, the association brings to life a captivating range of uniquely crafted musical selections at each concert, spanning from classical masterpieces to heartfelt folk tunes. With a rich history of delighting audiences since its inception, the organization continues to inspire through the West Michigan Flute Orchestra, Great Lakes Flutes, and a variety of enriching activities.
As one of the largest continuously rehearsing flute orchestras in the world, the West Michigan Flute Orchestra offers an exceptional musical experience, showcasing its beautiful depth and unique sound.
This orchestra creates an inspiring environment for all players to enhance their skills, connect with fellow flutists, and explore new music and sounds, fostering a positive and enriching learning atmosphere.
Our Mission
The purpose of the West Michigan Flute Association is to provide a showcase and a forum for the flute. WMFA provides the opportunity for performance, and the means to share knowledge, education, and resources with those playing, performing, teaching, and promoting the flute.
