Join us for the second annual Great Lakes Flute Festival Saturday, February 24, 2024! Flute players and enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in our second festival held at Hope College. Presenters, performers, and attendees will have wide-ranging opportunities to engage through networking, hands-on classes, workshops, and performances.


Security Message from Hope College

"Due to advanced security reasons, Hope College will have only one set of doors open for the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. 

Please use the front lobby doors located on the corner of E. 10th Street and Columbia Ave. All other doors will be locked.

Parking is located in the Faculty/Staff Parking Lot located off of  E 10th Street across from the Music Building marked in red on the map. Sign in and pick up your booklet and badge at registration, located at the ticket office in the lobby where you will enter.

Challenge

The West Michigan Flute Association, in partnership with the Great Lakes Flute Festival, is introducing the Darlene Dugan Young Artist competition AND masterclass competition.

2024 Darlene Dugan Young Artist Competition (ages 18-25) is a live competition that will be held February 24, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM onsite at the Great Lakes Flute Festival this year.

2024 Masterclass Performers Competition (ages 18 and younger) a competition held via a submitted recording. Competition applications open September 1 and closes December 1, 2023. Selected winners will perform live in masterclass or recital at 2:00 - 3:30 PM at the Great Lakes Flute Festival, February 24, 2024. Dr. Martha Councell-Vargas will give the masterclass.
